DOWNTOWN AMBASSADORS

Founded by City Mission in 2009, Downtown Ambassadors is a workforce development program dedicated to fostering service, transforming lives, and strengthening community. Since its inception, more than 100 men and women have provided hospitality and care throughout the Downtown area, all while gaining essential workforce training and skills for their future.

HOSPITALITY AMBASSADORS

Hospitality Ambassadors play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for all who visit downtown. With their friendly smiles and helpful presence, they offer directions, provide assistance, and ensure that visitors feel safe and supported as they explore the area. Whether helping someone find their way or offering a kind word, these Ambassadors help make downtown a warm and inviting place for everyone. Many Ambassadors are former residents of City Mission and go on to other jobs and continue making a positive impact.

OUTREACH AMBASSADORS

Outreach Ambassadors take a more hands-on approach to addressing challenges in the downtown area. Utilizing a storefront on Jay Street, the Ambassador van, and partnerships with local agencies, they are equipped to handle a range of situations—from providing emergency housing assistance to connecting individuals with rehab programs and meeting basic needs like food and clothing. Their work also supports local businesses, offering a helping hand in maintaining a vibrant and secure downtown community.
