KIM’S STORY

Surviving Loss, Discovering Purpose

freecompress-Kim

Last holiday season was extremely difficult for Kim. She had suffered great loss, and the holidays felt empty and isolating. In those early days, counseling services at the Wellness Center provided crucial support.

“The Mission began to fill a huge void in my life,” Kim recalled.

During her time in the Bridges to Freedom program, Kim began giving back and found hope and purpose in helping others.

“I dove into helping at the Mission and would jump in on every holiday just to give back,” she shared.

This holiday season, Kim feels a profound sense of joy and peace. She continues to give back wherever she can at City Mission, supporting residents and the broader community.

“All of my stress has been lifted. It’s such a freeing feeling and so comforting to know that I’m in a totally different place in my mind, body, and soul. I’m excited about the holidays, to spend it with my newfound friends and family, my Mission family,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Kim is full of gratitude to God and others for the opportunities she’s received.

“The program enabled me to take it seriously and incorporate it into my life. I’m just so grateful for everyone and everything on this campus.”

Thanking our donors and volunteers, Kim shared,

“The donors and volunteers are the heartbeat of the Mission. This place couldn’t exist without them.”

Thank You for investing in Kim and giving her, along with so many others, a chance to rebuild her life!
